Instructor: Silas Binkley, Heart-J Center's Education Program Manager, has been planning, leading, and supervising outdoor adventure education-based expeditions for twenty years. Silas has worked as an experiential education professional in the U.S. and Mexico for Colorado Mountain College and its academically rigorous Outdoor Semester in the Rockies program. He’s also served as a faculty member and wilderness field guide in the MA in Environmental Leadership program at Naropa University.
Silas has logged hundreds of backcountry days in institutional leadership positions, spanning from the southwestern U.S. and Mexico to Australia, Nepal, Scotland, and more. One of his most memorable backcountry trips was a 600-mile hike along the Continental Divide from Nederland, CO to New Mexico.
