Supportive Family Retreat
March 27-29, 2020
Join us at Sylvan Dale Ranch for an inspiring weekend in the foothills west of Loveland.
Sylvan Dale is a historic guest ranch that provides a peaceful and private riverside setting to relax, restore, and rejuvenate.
Just an hour from Denver, but a world away.
Spend the weekend with your family in a safe and supportive vacation-like atmosphere. Geared towards families and kids ages 5 -8 suspecting or recently diagnosed with ADHD, this retreat is designed to help families learn what to expect when faced with the challenges of ADHD.
This retreat was inspired by Theresa, the mother of a young child with ADHD. When she got her son’s diagnosis she was scared and felt completely alone. For years she knew something was wrong but unsure as to whom and how to approach getting the help that her whole family desperately needed.
After spending a week on a recent vacation at Sylvan Dale she finally felt like she could gain control of her life again. The restorative power of the Ranch helped her see the positive path her family could go in spite of the diagnosis and wished other families like her own could experience the beauty and grace of this wonderful place. She knows Sylvan Dale is a place that makes her and her children feel safe, supported, and at home, so she suggested planning a weekend for families with children battling similar mental health diagnosis to come together in a supportive and relaxing environment.
Learn alongside other families and potentially find experts through our collaborative network, to help get you the right tools to make your daily life easier. Share what works for you and learn what works for others.
For some activities, we'll be together as families, while other activities will be customized for specific groups: parents, siblings, and children with diagnosed or suspected ADHD.
This weekend is created just for you!
We know that ADHD is just one of many similar mental health disorders, including ADD, ODD, DMDD, Anxiety, ASD, LD (Learning Disability). Even if you have yet to receive a formal mental health diagnosis, the information you will learn at this retreat will help lead you in the right direction. If you suspect one or more of these similar issues in your child, please don’t be shy, contact us!
This weekend will bring together families facing similar struggles to share and learn together. This weekend is not about diagnosis or mental health treatment and is not a replacement for seeking professional guidance.
We welcome your input so we can tailor a weekend that makes you feel in control again and serves your family. Look for the "Desired Activities" box on the registration page and let us know which of the following activities sound helpful, and suggest other activities that you'd like to see included.
Equine Therapy (groundwork with horses)
