The Inspiration for this Retreat -- Theresa and Her Family

This retreat was inspired by Theresa, the mother of a young child with ADHD. When her son was younger, she was scared and felt completely alone. For years she knew something was wrong but unsure as to whom and how to approach getting the help that her whole family desperately needed.

After spending a week on a recent vacation at Sylvan Dale she finally felt like she could gain control of her life again. The restorative power of the Ranch helped her see the positive path her family could take in spite of the chaos ADHD had brought to her family, and she wished other families could experience the beauty and grace of this wonderful place.

Theresa knows Sylvan Dale is a place that makes her and her children feel safe, supported, and at home, so she suggested planning a weekend for families with children  battling similar mental health issues to come together in a supportive and relaxing environment.

Learn alongside other families and to help get you the right tools to make your daily life easier. Share what works for you and learn what works for others.

For some activities, we'll be together as families, while other activities will be customized for specific groups:  parents, siblings, and children with ADHD.

Join us to connect with your family, relax in nature, and explore your family's superpowers!

**This weekend is not mental health treatment and is not meant to replace seeking professional guidance, but is about bringing a supportive community together to teach each other what ADHD is really about.**
