Heart-J Volunteers
One of the best ways you can get involved with Heart-J Center is to volunteer!
Heart-J Center’s wonderful volunteers provide life-changing outdoor experiences to people from throughout Northern Colorado and beyond.
As we expand our field trip and workshop offerings, we need you even more!
Will you come along on the Heart-J Adventure?
Volunteer Opportunities
Outdoor Education Leaders:
Our biggest volunteer need is leaders for spring and fall outdoor education field trips (March-April-May and September-October). We need guides who are passionate about geology, aquatic biology, wildlife, team building and leadership, hiking, orienteering, Colorado history, and much more. If you want to change lives by sharing your love of the outdoors with schoolkids, this is an awesome opportunity. We welcome volunteers of all ages (18+) and backgrounds. Formal education in the subject matter is not required. Your curiosity and dedication to exploration will guide the way. Heart-J Center provides training and volunteer orientation.

Feedback from a Fifth Grade Teacher:
Maria Hoxmeier, Jackson Elementary School, Greeley
“The Heart J Center was an amazing experience for our 5th-grade students. 87% of our students live in poverty and 83% are part of a minority demographic, including refugee students. This was the first time some of our students had left Greeley. Many of our students have parents who have multiple jobs or do not have transportation to give their children opportunities to experience Colorado nature. This field trip made that possible for them and they learned a great amount, while also enjoying the outdoors and having an experience they'll never forget.”

Construction Projects:
As we continue to recover from the Alexander Fire, there are plenty of construction projects in the works. Contact Silas if you’d like to be on the contact list of these type of projects.
